Big week lays a head for the Trojans

 9-21-09

 The Kenosha Tremper Trojan Boys Volleyball team opens a big week of play tonight at home against St. Cat's.  Tonights match against Racine St. Cat's begins with the Junior Varsity match at 5:00 pm, and the Varsity will follow.  Between the Varsity and Junior Varsity match there will be a small recognition ceremony for parents night.  Following the Varsity match there will be gathering for parents, players, and families.  Then on Thursday September 24th the Trojans welcome state ranked Central High for a SEC showdown.  Matches are to begin at 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm respectively.  Finally, the Trojan Varsity team will head to Arrowhead High School on Saturday September 26th to participate in the Warhawk Invite, where they are looking to defend their second place finish from a season ago.  Play is slated to begin at 9:00 am.

Trojans open the season on a high note

 9-4-09

 The Kenosha Tremper Boys Volleyball team opened the 2009 season on a high note Thursday in their home gym.  The defeated Heritage Christian in straight sets, by the scores of 25-22, 25-14, and 25-12.  The Trojans overcame a 5-0 deficit in the first set and fought back to get the win. After the young Trojan team got that first set out of their way, they sailed on to victory.  The night was highlighted by great personal performances.  Adam Landgraf led the way with 25 assists, Kyle Quinn was on the receiving end of almost half of those assists with a team leading 10 kills.  Brian Quinn not only lead the team with a .500 hitting percentage (4 kills /1 error/6 attempts) on the match, he also lead with 2 total blocks (4 assist blocks).  Kyle Bakkila lead the serving attack with 4 aces, as Adam Gagliardi chipped in with 12 digs.  The 1-0 Trojans will be back in action on Thursday September 10th at home against Racine Horlick.  The Junior Varsity match is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm with the Varsity match set to start at 6:30 pm.  Congratulations guys!!!
